Who Are We?
We are a fully Irish owned Freight Forwarder with a passion for what we do. Our specialist team spans nearly 40 years in the industry, working originally with some of Ireland’s largest freight companies, before identifying and exploiting a space in the market for a more focused and customer friendly small company. We pride ourselves in providing a dedicated, specialist service to our clients, which is relationship centred and all about the customer’s experience. IE Distribution looks after and serves as clients, some of Ireland’s largest indigenous organisations as well as working with many overseas international companies headquartered around Dublin and other major Irish cities. Special projects, particular customer needs, as well as unusual and sensitive assignments are all part and parcel of our daily routine in looking after our customers in a challenging marketplace.

Our experience has shown us that a customer likes to feel wanted and special. That is our unique selling point. All our customers are treated like they are our only customer. Being small and home grown, with the global support of some of the worlds leading Freight Networks, means we can offer a dedicated service whilst still making decisions locally. Unlike the larger multi-nationals, who are limited to their own offices in every country, we can pick from a selection of specialised companies to ensure the needs of our clients are met. We have hand picked our Network Partners ensuring the highest level of cover in nearly every country in the world. Every company is fully vetted by the individual Networks to ensure they meet the highest industry standards. This relationship also gives us great buying power, enabling us to be competitive as well as competent.
Our Team
We are proud of our small family. We are a group of experienced people, who have come together to build a team who is passionate about what we do.
Airfreight / Seafreight
Our freight team is led by Damien Birney. Damien is over 20 years working in the industry, gaining experience along the way with some of Irelands leading freight forwarders. Damien has a passion for all things ‘freight related’. If you need a solution, Damien is the man for the job. His knowledge of services, airlines, local restrictions, routes & customs requirements are quite impressive – He is what you might call our inhouse ‘search engine’
Logistics / Roadfreight
Leading up this team is Jenny Tucker. Jenny has been working in the industry for over 20 years. She has worked all over the world for one of Irelands oldest freight companies and has accumulated a vast knowledge of all things ‘logistics’. She is quick thinking and a problem solver and nothing gets in her way of finishing a project quickly and efficiently.
Finance / Sales
Our ‘elder’ in this department is Jackie Hartnett. Jackie has worked with some of the islands leading companies since 1983 and has seen some of the old favourites been taken over by the global giants. The concept of ‘Small is Great’ is something that she strongly believes in, as she has witnessed first hand the difference between ‘working with’ and ‘working for’ the customer. Jackie loves people, nearly as much as she loves her job, and we are confident that this is one of the reasons our concept of ‘thinking locally….delivering globally’ works.
Warehouse
Our main man in the warehouse is John Murray. John has been working in logistics & warehousing for over 25 years. He has worked for one of Irelands leading beverage companies, being instrumental in developing their warehouse management system. John runs a tight ship, but there is one thing for sure – he knows where every item is in the warehouse, how long it has been there and why it is there. If you are looking for someone to treat your goods like their own, look no further.
Customs Clearance
We provide a full Customs Clearance service (both import & export) air & ocean freight.
Airfreight
We are carrier-neutral and can offer rates from over 200 airlines worldwide.
Seafreight
We have access to all major shipping lines for a worldwide reach for destination services.
